The Southwest Utah Public Health Department has confirmed a positive case of COVID-19 in Washington County. The individual is an adult who is receiving medical care. This case appears to be travel-related.
The Utah Department of Health (UDOH) and Mountainstar HCA today announced the state’s first COVID-19-related death. At the time of their death, the patient was being treated at Lakeview Hospital. The patient is a male, was older than 60 and was a resident of Davis County. He had underlying medical conditions, and was hospitalized for two days prior to his death.
Because of a concern about employee safety and the risk of spreading COVID-19 through contaminated surfaces, many Utah golf courses are temporarily closing. This includes public courses in Salt Lake City and Davis County.
