Recommendations Issued By Task Force to Limit Spread of COVID-19

Governor Gary Herbert and the Utah Coronavirus Task Force are recommending that any gathering of more than 100 people be cancelled beginning Monday, March 16, for at least two weeks. These measures are intended to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Summit County Resident is State’s 3rd COVID-19 Case

This third confirmed case of COVID-19 is a male patient from Summit County younger than 60. He is currently recovering at home. Prior to becoming ill, he traveled to Europe and had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case during that travel.

The strategy of ‘home isolation’ will become the norm as we see additional cases, especially among those whose symptoms are not severe enough to require hospitalization. These individuals will be monitored by the state or local health departments and will be provided with detailed information on what they should do to prevent others in the home from becoming
infected.
