Governor Herbert Announces First Covid-19 Case

The Utah Department of Health, Davis County Health Department, and the COVID-19 Community Task Force confirmed the first known case of COVID-19 in Utah. The patient is believed to have been exposed to COVID-19 while on a recent cruise aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship.

Governor declares state of emergency

“Our number one focus is preparing for the arrival of novel coronavirus,” Gov. Gary R. Herbert said. “Issuing this declaration now allows us to take additional proactive steps that will make a big difference in how effectively we can respond.”
