El Departamento de Salud de Utah (UDOH) continúa ofreciendo pruebas rápidas de antígenos gratuitas en muchos lugares del estado de Utah. Cada semana se seleccionan nuevos sitios en base a los altos índices de positividad, menos pruebas realizadas, muestreo de aguas residuales no tratadas y otros datos de vigilancia. Algunos sitios ofrecerán servicios al auto mientras que otros serán realizados en edificios. Se alienta a todos a usar mascarillas y mantener la distancia social mientras esperan en las filas.
Cualquier persona mayor de 5 años puede hacerse la prueba en estas clínicas de pruebas gratuitas, aunque no tenga síntomas de COVID-19. Cualquier persona que tenga cualquier síntoma, aunque sean leves, debe venir y hacerse la prueba. Por favor, regístrese en línea. Si no se registra en línea o no puede registrarse en línea, podrá registrarse en el sitio, pero tardará más tiempo en hacerse la prueba. Es posible que se requiera una identificación.
Estas clínicas de pruebas están diseñadas para identificar más rápidamente a las personas que actualmente están infectadas con COVID-19, incluyendo a aquellos que tal vez ni siquiera sepan que están infectados porque no tienen síntomas. La identificación de estos individuos ayudará a reducir la propagación de la infección en la comunidad.
Las pruebas rápidas de antígenos son menos sensibles que las pruebas de PCR. Esto significa que las pruebas de PCR son más eficaces que las pruebas de antígenos para detectar el virus, especialmente cuando una persona tiene pequeñas cantidades de virus en su cuerpo. Si un individuo tiene síntomas y las pruebas resultan negativas en la prueba rápida de antígenos o si un individuo no tiene síntomas y las pruebas resultan positivas en la prueba rápida de antígenos, se le remitirá a una prueba PCR de seguimiento y confirmación.
